The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative has successfully persuaded dozens of countries to force mining and energy companies to reveal payments made in countries where they operate. But in the United States the obligation has been softened and consequently Exxon Mobil and Chevron do not disclose payments.

These oil giants have been members of the board of the EITI since 2003, but development groups want them removed.

Isabel Munilla, from Oxfam America, tells the 蜜芽传媒's Russell Padmore the energy firms are undermining the anti-corruption work of the global project.
