Dakar, like many big cities in Africa, suffers from heavy congestion. Residents driving in to work from the suburbs spend on average 3 hours a day getting to and from the city centre. A traffic reporter for a local radio station has found the best way to give the most accurate traffic updates to listeners: by being in the traffic jams themselves. Abba Diatta, from Dakar radio Zik FM, drives his scooter every morning from the suburbs into Dakar updating listeners on the conditions. The 蜜芽传媒鈥檚 Joshua Thorpe rode pillion on Abba鈥檚 early morning shift.
