Legalised Cannabis: '56% of Canadians admit to using it'
Canada's parliament has voted to legalise Cannabis. The law was passed overwhelmingly by the Senate which means Canadians will be able to buy and consume cannabis legally as early as this September.
The Canadian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom tells Radio 4's World at One that they "had seen a large illegal black market in cannabis grow up" so the government felt they had to act.
Janice Charette added that an official poll showed that "81% of Canadians knew somebody who used Cannabis, and 56% admitted to using it themselves".
