If you鈥檝e driven to an airport lately, then there鈥檚 a good chance you鈥檝e had to pay a charge to drop off passengers near the terminal. Charges have been introduced at London Stansted, Luton, Liverpool, Leeds, Bradford, Birmingham, East Midlands, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Southampton, Edinburgh, Belfast, Bristol, Newcastle and Cardiff. That is more than half of all the airports across the UK. Manchester is the latest, from July its been charging 拢3 for five minutes and then 拢4 for a maximum of ten minutes. The charge applies to taxis as well as private cars. Winifred Robinson finds out more.
