Smile Love It Might Never Happen
Three short films by the Manchester-based trio Eggs Collective.
The world’s going to hell in a handcart, but in Eggs Collective’s shop routine reigns and it’s business as usual - except for the fact that there aren’t any customers and the staff never leave. The vibe is Mr Benn meets Endgame, but with more women. An offbeat take on legendary shops throughout decades of TV comedies.
Eggs Collective are Sara Cocker, Lowri Evans and Léonie Higgins: a trio of writer-performers based in Manchester. Their self-produced debut TV show Get A Round aired on ѿý Two to critical acclaim and was nominated for Best Comedy Programme at the 2018 Royal Television Society NW Awards. They have background in cabaret theatre and have taken their hit live shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, Latitude Festival and Soho Theatre and across the UK in two national tours.
“Salty work at the boundaries oftheater and cabaret, often offering sly satire under a veil of sweetness” - The New York Times
