Greenland: 2/5 The Big Melt
Our series looking at Greenland's vast ice sheet continues. It's melting faster than ever before, and far more than we previously thought.
Alun Hubbard, Professor of Glaciology from Aberystwyth University, has spent more than a decade measuring the ice sheet there. And this year, he sent us a collection of audio diaries from his summer expedition.
In part two of his reports he tells us about the "dark zone" of the ice-sheet and 'the Albedo Effect' - "which is a really important part of Arctic amplification of greenhouse warming."
