Social Care 9: Returning from the Care ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½
We return to a story that we ran with a series of reports earlier this year about Rita Perrott. She needed to go into a care home in Norwich and we spoke to her family, and to Norfolk County Council about the process and the challenges getting funding. The series got rather overtaken, like everything, by coronavirus.
Rita is now nearing the end of her life and visiting has become more difficult.
An increasing number of care homes are now locking down completely, as coronavirus cases rise again. It means many families can't spend time with their loved ones as they die. It’s why Rita’s family have now decided to move her back home for her last few days.
Andrew Bomford went back to meet them.
