About two million people who have not been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 have been placed in lockdown in Austria as the country faces a surge in cases. Unvaccinated people will only be allowed to leave home for limited reasons, like working or buying food. People who have had one dose of a vaccine can be released from lockdown if they show a negative PCR test.

Two people who have not had the vaccine explain why they have not followed the official advice to do so, to protect themselves and those around them. One believes the lockdown is discriminatory and that her healthy lifestyle will protect her against Covid. The other doesn't think vaccines keep the numbers down as he says people who have been vaccinated still get infected and can pass the virus on.

Scientists and health officials recommend that everyone should get the vaccine, as they prevent serious Covid illness and deaths.
