The King in Scotland

A Thanksgiving Service for the Queen and the King's address to the Scottish Parliament.

On Monday, 12th September, a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Queen Elizabeth was held at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. Later, political leaders at the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood expressed their condolences. The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, said the Queen’s death was a moment of "profound sorrow" for many Scots. Addressing Scotland’s parliament for the first time as monarch, the King said his mother had “found in the hills of this land and in the hearts of its people, a haven and a home”.
