The Transit Test
Each of these graphs shows the brightness of a distant star measured over time. Five of them are real transit events: a distant planet, passing in front of its star. The other ten are either much darker stars passing in front of the distant one, or random fluctuations in the star's brightness - junk data. Can you locate five exoplanets without any mistakes? Check the separate answer key once you're done! This test comes from an episode of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s CrowdScience. Listen to the episode first to get some tips for solving the test.
