Why The Baseball Project are combining home runs and hit singles

With the release of their fourth album 'Grand Salami Time', The Baseball Project have proved that great music and great sport can mix.

They include some of the most renowned and respected musicians in alternative rock, and, as their band name suggests, their material is focused on the sport of baseball.

Scott McCaughey, often referred to as the unofficial 5th member of American rock band R.E.M., is part of the Project and spoke to Sportshour’s Caroline Barker about their unique mix of beats and baseball, home runs and hit singles.
