Council sells Skegness seafront land for £1
A plot of land on Skegness seafront has been sold to developers for £1 by East Lindsey District Council.
The former site of a crazy golf course, which has been vacant since 2018, is believed to have a market value of around £280,000.
Developers The Burney Group want to build a new Travelodge hotel and drive-through Starbucks restaurant on the site, but hotel and B&B owners in the resort fear it will have a negative effect on their businesses.
Councillors say the land was sold cheaply because its low-lying location makes redevelopment more difficult and costly.
