RAF Scampton asylum centre plans scrapped
Controversial plans to use RAF Scampton near Lincoln to house asylum seekers have been axed by the government.
The proposal for the former air station was drawn up by the previous Conservative administration, but the Labour government says it would have cost £122 million to use the site until 2027 and does not represent value for money.
