German Cinema Classics: 'Goodbye Lenin': Daniel Brühl's breakout film on the fall of the Berlin Wall
Thirty five years ago this week, the Berlin Wall that had separated East and West Germany for decades, fell.
In 2003, the film 'Goodbye Lenin' was released. Starring a young Daniel Brühl and directed by Wolfgang Becker, it was a semi-humorous look at how quickly consumerism overtook the former communist state of East Germany.
And as Emma Jones tells us, it made Brühl one of the new Germany's biggest stars.
