Grantham bridge collisions: What's the solution?
Incidents of large lorries hitting three low railway bridges in Grantham have cost taxpayers more than half a million pounds since March 2024.
The bridges, which carry the East Coast Main Line through the town, are among the most frequently struck in the country.
Network Rail, which is responsible for the bridges, is installing improved monitoring systems but Councillor Richard Davies of Lincolnshire County Council says measures to make vehicles use different routes and avoid them in the first place would be a better option.
