Zia Yusuf: Reform UK row 'storm in a teacup'

Reform UK's Zia Yusuf says he might support a ban of face coverings in public after previously calling a Reform UK MP's call to ban the burka “dumb”.

Speaking to Today’s Nick Robinson, he says would “probably be in favour of banning face coverings in public writ large” if he was an MP.

It comes after the former party chairman resigned, saying in a social media post that trying to get the party elected was not "a good use of my time".

However, two days later, he said he had come back to lead the party's unit tasked with identifying spending cuts at councils, which is inspired by Elon Musk's US Department of Government Efficiency.
