'Natchez': Documentary explores American South's History of Slavery
Britain’s biggest documentary festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, is underway, and amongst the films being shown is 'Natchez', a movie looking at how the Mississippi city of the same name is grappling with its history as part of the US slave trade.
The film, directed by Suzannah Herbert, presents competing narratives that are part of a wider debate in the country, over whether to bury what some see as the USA's racist past; or to face up to it.
