Do women feel safe running at night?
A 2024 survey from Sport England showed 72% of women change their exercise patterns in winter, with many citing nights getting darker, earlier, and feeling unsafe at these times.
To combat this, police in Hereford have secured funding to give out free, wearable panic alarms.
We ask women in Worcester and the founder of Hereford's Girlies That Run if they feel safe running at night.
John Campion, the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, also gives his perspective.
