Born in Malmö, Nils first studied engineering and then worked as a teacher before studying at the University College of Opera, Stockholm.
His varied engagements have included Canio Pagliacci in Lund, Sweden, a role in the Seven Deadly Sins on tour with Anne-Sofie von Otter, Jack/Tobby Mahagonny in Stuttgart and Molqi in John Adams' The Death of Klinghoffer in Helsinki.
Nils sang the role of Florestan Fidelio for Glyndebourne Touring Opera, a role in which he later made his Swedish debut.
In the spring of 2003 he again sang Molqi for performances in Helsinki and Prague and later in 2003 he was due to travel to San Francisco for the first of a number of engagements including Steuermann Der Fliegender Holländer.
Nils enjoys kayaking, walking and gardening.
