President Trump to meet Vladimir Putin

Mr Trump says the pair have agreed to face-to-face talks in Hungary.

US President Donald Trump says 'great progress' was made during a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, with the pair agreeing to face-to-face talks in Hungary. This news comes ahead of Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the White House later today.

We go to Kenya where the state funeral of the former prime minister, Raila Odinga, is to be held with full military honours. It follows a day in which at least three people died in Kenya after police fired gunshots and tear gas in a stadium where crowds of mourners had gathered to see the body of Mr Odinga.

And we go to Peru where a state of emergency has been called by the new government. It comes after clashes between anti-government protesters and riot police in the Peruvian capital, Lima, that left a 32-year-old man dead and more than 100 people injured, including many police officers.
