Following its hugely successful runs on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ television, Radio 4 listeners have another chance to hear Matt Lucas and David Walliams in their character-comedy sketch show exploring British life in Britain as it is lived by Britons today in Britain.
The dynamic duo explain all: "Britain. Britain. Britain. Population one millions. Number of towns 11. Average height 30. Shoesize. But just who are Britain? Over the next twenteen weeks, we aim to find out - by following the lives of ordinary British folk. What do they? Who is them? And why?"
Each programme features a host of characters such as rubbish transvestite Emily Howard, former Olympic champion turned business lecturer Denver Mills, Dyffed, the only gay man in Llandewi Brefi, and games inventor Matthew Waterhouse, as well as old favourites Sir Bernard Chumley and slimming expert Marjorie Dawes. The sketches are all introduced by the voice of Tom Baker and the series features a theme recorded by David Arnold (The World Is Not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, Stargate).
