Coll in the news

Coll seems to have hit the papers again. Good news about the jawbones cast, although I gather there is some doubt as to how long they will last, there is already some damage and they aren't up yet. Apparently they should be filled with expanding foam to give them more strength. They are pretty realistic though and probably 'A Good Thing'.

The food write up for the hotel took a couple of weeks to get into the papers, you can imagine how nervous we were getting. Since then we’ve been trying to identify all the people in the photograph. And correct the odd mistake, competitive though our prices are, it isn’t possible to sell scallops quite that cheap unless money laundering is the main aim. I’m full of admiration for the reviewer, he had a huge quantity of home baking to judge at the show, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and he tasted practically everything.

I've been trying to comment on other blogs but can't. It's a firewall problem (so I'm told) but Ming is too busy growing a beard and dropping dust on the bar floor to press the magic buttons and sort it out. Roll on the winter. I wonder how many other regular commenters are having problems.

Tonight should have been the Tobermory to Coll yacht race, but it has been postponed because of tomorrows weather. A real shame because last year the music in the bar was great.

I still don't understand why the scientists couldn't make do with the casts and let the islanders have the real bones back. Cheers Gary
