FarmAbility

On Your Farm

Available for over a year

FarmAbility is a project in Oxfordshire which gives adults with learning disabilities such as autism the chance to try their hand at agriculture. It offers them work experience and new training opportunities, on what is very much a working farm. Emma Campbell visits the farm and meets some of the "co-farmers", as they're called, as they learn to pack eggs, grow vegetables, and care for livestock. She finds out what they get out of the time they spend on the farm, and how they interact with the rest of the commercial farm business. She also hears from the man behind the idea, Mike Gooding, whose farm at Wytham near Oxford is home to the FarmAbility scheme. Produced and presented by Emma Campbell.
