5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

The sports psychiatrist, who coached the England football squad, has defended their performance at the World Cup after they failed to make it through the group stages. Dr. Steve Peters, who was hired by the FA after his success with Victoria Pendleton and Sir Chris Hoy, said the team gave "absolutely everything" and were "devastated" to lose. He said, "The bottom line is, you can't make everyone win... If that persons got to the best they can be, then you can't ask for more." This clip is originally from Richard Bacon on Monday 11 August 2014.
