5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

Treatment for Michael J Fox's tremors included drilling holes in his brain reveals clinical neurologist Dr Allan Ropper. The Back to the Future star was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991 at the age of 30. Dr Roper, who was Mr Fox's neurologist, said triggering "small strokes" by drilling into the brain can "kill" tremors, but more modern techniques are now available. This clip is originally from 5 live Afternoon Edition on January 12 2015.
