Halal BBQ: It’s What’s For Iftar

Boston Calling

Available for over a year

Texas native Robert West used to lament that many of his Muslim friends, even those who had spent most or all of their lives in the Lone Star state, had never tried real Texas-style smoked barbecue. So he and a friend, Jason Bones, opened up a food business called ‘Chopped n Smoked’, which bills itself as ‘authentic halal Texas BBQ’. Now, with the holy month of Ramadan underway, the two men are busy serving up a deliciously unique end-of-the-day meal for iftar.
