Newcastle United’s record goalscorer and former captain Alan Shearer admits he is “delighted” but a “little surprised” by Rafa Benitez's decision to stay on as manager of the Magpies. Shearer said: "It's a tough league, The Championship, and hopefully he can get Newcastle back into the Premier League within one season."
