Harmony out of Chaos

Sunday Sequence

Available for over a year

In 2008, freelance musician and conductor, Paul MacAlindin, was on a brief visit home to Scotland when he spotted a story in the Glasgow Herald - "Iraqi teen seeks maestro". The teen in question was Zohal Sultan, a 17 year old pianist. She played with the Iraqi National Orchestra, but she dreamed of creating an Iraqi Youth Orchestra. Paul MacAlinden knew Iraq was deeply divided, and in chaos. He talks to Roisin McAuley about his taking up this challenge.
