'I wish her good luck'

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Former Cabinet Secretary Gus O’Donnell – who served as Cabinet Secretary to Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron- said that managing Brexit is “the most challenging task” faced by any Prime Minister in his memory. Lord O’Donnell told Carolyn Quinn on ѿý Radio 4's The Westminster Hour that some people think the process is “completely straightforward” and that it can be done “overnight”, but ministers are now realising “precisely how difficult all of this is.” He speculated that the tone of EU negotiations would be “very negative” at first, while elections are taking place in France and Germany, but there may be more “give and take” once they finish.
