Former Cabinet Secretary Gus O鈥橠onnell 鈥� who served as Cabinet Secretary to Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron- said that managing Brexit is 鈥渢he most challenging task鈥� faced by any Prime Minister in his memory.

Lord O鈥橠onnell told Carolyn Quinn on 蜜芽传媒 Radio 4's The Westminster Hour that some people think the process is 鈥渃ompletely straightforward鈥� and that it can be done 鈥渙vernight鈥�, but ministers are now realising 鈥減recisely how difficult all of this is.鈥�

He speculated that the tone of EU negotiations would be 鈥渧ery negative鈥� at first, while elections are taking place in France and Germany, but there may be more 鈥済ive and take鈥� once they finish.
