The new craze sweeping school playgrounds

5 Live In Short

Available for over a year

‘Fidget spinners’ are the latest craze to sweep through school playgrounds, with 50,000 being sold every week. The popular toy consists of a ball bearing which sits in a three-pronged plastic device which can then be flicked and spun round. Gary Grant, managing Director and Founder of The Entertainer toy retailer, told 5 live: “Right now we just cannot keep them in stock. Most toys that come from the Far-East are shipped in by boat but due to demand we’re flying them in.” “It’s been absolutely phenomenal.” This clip is originally from 5 live Drive on 4 April 2017.
