How much does the summer holiday cost parents?

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

If you work and you don’t have relatives who can help you may find that the cost of childcare is rising and there are fewer council-run holiday clubs available. That’s according to research published today by the Family and Childcare Trust. It surveyed parents who said they were paying on average £124 a week for childcare, that’s up 4% on last year. There are differences depending on where you live. In Wales, for example, prices have fallen. Megan Jarvie talks to Winifred Robinson about the costs. First broadcast on You & Yours, 20 July 2017.
