Hywel Dda reorganisation proposals: 'They're playing with people's lives' says caller Moira

Dot Davies

Available for over a year

Huge changes to the NHS across west Wales have been proposed by Hywel Dda Health board. Moira from Goodwick, near Fishguard, is very unhappy with what's been tabled - as each of the three options put forward involve Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest losing its status as a round-the-clock general hospital. In the proposals released by the health board on Thursday, Glangwili hospital in Carmarthen would also stand to lose key services including A&E. Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth would remain unchanged. But a new hospital, including an A&E unit, would be built somewhere near the Carmarthenshire - Pembrokeshire border. Health board members agreed to put the three proposals out to public consultation over the next 12 weeks.
