Why are some Irish women still travelling to the UK for an abortion?

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

Nearly a year ago Ireland voted to change the law on abortion in a referendum. Abortion became legal up to 12 weeks into a pregnancy. But Woman’s Hour has heard that some Irish women who want an abortion are still preferring to travel to the UK even if they are eligible for the procedure back home. Siobhann Tighe has been to Ireland to report a year on from the abortion law change.
