The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sports Unsung Hero Award is given annually as part of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sports Personality of the Year ceremony in December. The award is given to the sportsperson who has made a substantial yet unrecognised contribution to sport. This year a woman from Leicester has been chosen for her valuable work, which began over a game of rounders! Rukhsana Hussain does an amazing job, giving women in her local community a safe space in a local park to meet, play sport and offer each other support.
