A huge fire has ripped through a refugee camp in the south of Bangladesh leaving an estimated 12,000 people homeless. The blaze raised homes in the Cox's Bazar area - believed to be the world's largest refugee camp housing more than a million Rohingya refugees who fled persecution in neighbouring Myanmar. Yassin Abdumonab - himself a Rohingya refugee from Myanmar since 2017 - is a freelance photographer and journalist living in the camp. He told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Newsday it's not the first time there has been a fire at the Balukhali camp. “It was ...in the afternoon, I was inside my shelter just playing with my baby [when] people were shouting and screaming. I came out of my shelter and saw a huge fire... growing bigger and bigger. I just ran towards the fire then it was impossible to get closer. The fire surrounded all of the refugees. They don't have food or water right now... everyone is worried about the future. Everyone is just hoping to go back home."
