Pilkingtons: end of an era in St Helens
Available for over a year
After almost two centuries, the last piece of glass was made at Pilkington's Watson Street site in St Helens. The company produces more than 230-thousand tonnes of glass in the town, which is used in buildings all over the world. It's moving manufacturing to a new, greener plant, just a few hundred metres away from the historic site – continuing the legacy of glass-making in St Helens.
