The fan owned club "rising through the ashes"

Available for over a year

The demise, and subsequent rise, of Bury Football Club is fast becoming a sporting story for the ages. Less than six years ago the club was kicked out of the Football League and many feared that was the end. But from the ashes rose a phoenix club, Bury AFC, which reverted to Bury FC following a merger, and football at Gigg Lane resumed. Now the supporter-owned, debt-free club is rising through the non-leagues, and basking in the glory of a title winning season. Ian Haslam has the story. Photo credit: Getty
