Menopause: Breaking South Asian Taboos

Available for over a year

In some South Asian communities mentioning the word 'period' or 'menopause' is still a source of embarrassment and shame where a woman's value is tied to her fertility. Two friends Veerpal Sandhu and Inderpal Flora decided to tackle this by setting up safe spaces for women to open up and get support. Veerpal is a clinical menopause pharmacist and she says many women suffer so badly that it can lead to friendships, relationships and marriages breaking up. Veerpal and Inderpal had a conversation about how perimenopause and menopause has affected their lives.
