From the Royal Opera House in London, Georgia Mann presents the annual New Year’s Day concert showcasing members of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s New Generation Artists scheme. Founded in 1999, the scheme supports some of the world’s finest young instrumentalists, singers and ensembles at the start of their international careers through performance and broadcast opportunities. The starry line-up features Macedonian-Canadian mezzo soprano Ema Nikolovska, one of the most exciting and versatile young singers on stage today; she’s accompanied by Indian-American pianist Kunal Lahiry, the NGA scheme’s first ever collaborative pianist. British jazz pianist and composer Fergus McCreadie is acclaimed for his unique fusions of contemporary jazz and Scottish folk music. And we hear from cellist Santiago Canon Valencia, the first ever Colombian New Generation Artist, praised for his flawless technique and unique brand of music-making.
