East London Olympics: Carpenters Primary in Stratford is the closest school to the Olympic site. The school is embracing that fact, and in August 2008 pupils went to get a birds eye view of the site.

The area behind Carpenters Lane in the heart of Stratford has been transformed over the last few years as building work on the Olympic stadium and other new structures continues rapidly. Carpenters Primary School is right on the edge of the site, and in August 2008 pupils went to get a birds eye view of the developments with teacher Richard Saunders.
