History was made last night in Luanda as Egypt became the first country to win the African Cup of Nations for the seventh time and the first country to raise the cup three times in a row by beating Ghana's Black Stars 1-nil.

The mood in Ghana, not surprisingly was downbeat.

Much had been hoped of this young Black Stars side and a public holiday was planned if they were victorious.
