Freddie Mercury & Queen
Welcome Lewis! It is splendid that we are blogging together during September. I read all your previous blogs and what is more I made notes all of useful phrases to my exercise book. I need to write down the new words and expressions because I can memorize them in this way. Maybe I am getting old.....
I was bleary –eyed this morning . I had a bad dream last night. I was attacked by english words. I think I was in a fever about my first blog . Do you know that feeling?
While I am doing the cooking in the kitchen I always listen to the radio. I like listening to songs of the seventies and the eighties. I listen to the channel that broadcasts song hits from this time. Freddie Mercury was born 60 years ago and today was a Freddie Mercury Day in the radio to the memory of him. I am a big enthusiast of the band Queen. So, in the morning I listened to the songs such a Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Do not Stop Me Now, We Will Rock You and so on. These songs put some pep into me after my bad dream.
Yesterday I went to English Club. This Club is free and for everybody who wants to improve myself in English. It was our first encounter after our summer holiday. Every Monday from 7 o´clock to half past 8 people meet in a class and play games, talk about different topics and make friends. Of course, we are all obsessed with learning English. This Club is very important to me because it is the only place where I can practise my language skills. Speaking is far, far more difficult for me than writing it. I feel still embarassed when I speak in English. In this way I would like to thank Eva for setting this Club up and for all members who keep their fingers crossed for me. I enjoy spending time very much there because the atmosphere is always good. I have found new friends and I have already learnt many new things there. Of course, yesterday we talked about our summer holidays. Everybody spoke about her/his special moment in summer. My summer was not especial and was not action packed. I lived my everyday life. I think that the highlight of my summer will be in four days when Csilla will arrive.
We are after a very hot summer. It was really sweltering and scorching. In order to escape the heat I spent days inside. I dealt with English almost every day in my spare time because I read and listened to the topics on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Learning English website. I would recommend this method for learners: read, read and read good topics. This method helps me but I think everybody should find her/his own way.
Bye for now. See you tomorrow. Thanks again for comments.

"Speaking is far, far more difficult for me than writing it." Anita, that is the same for me. I have studied Spanish and Vietnamese before, and it is much easier for me to learn proper spelling and grammar than pronunciation. However, speaking is an important language skill. You're not alone in your language frustrations.
Hello Everyone! I'm Csilla, Anita's daughter... I was soooo excited to read my mum's blog this afternoon! I thought I'd leave a little comments here to surprise her when she gets home :) I've learned English for as long as I can remember (actually, since I was 10) and have lived in English speaking countries for about two years now and I must say I find it quite embarrassing when my mum uses English expressions and phrases that I've never heard before! Of course, this is just to say how very proud I am of her! I think her English is amazing! I really cannot wait to be home this weekend even though she'll spoil me rotten and feed me so much I'll end up putting on loads of weight :) Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading her blog and all your comments this month!
Hi, Anita. I like the Queen also, especially the songs including I was bornd to love you, We will rock you, We are the champions, Don't stop me now, etc. They are really touching me every time I heard. It is a pity that such a band had died so early.
Anita: I really liked your blog today and yesterday. They were very well written and very interesting. It is so exciting that Csilla is coming home for a visit. How did Peter like his first day at school? Your blogs portray what a close relationship you have with your children. I think many people can relate to summers that are not action packed. I know we can. I look forward to your blog tomorrow.
Congratulations Anita. I think that this opportunity is very good for you. It was very interesting for me to read your two entries and to know about your life in that country from which we don´t know almost anything here. I have studied English years ago and I use it sometimes in my job as a secretary. I agree with you that it is important to read a lot to practice. I hope your daughter and you can spend a good time together. Here in Uruguay it is very cold nowadays, hoping that spring arrives soon.
Hi!Anita,I sent my welcome message to you yesterday but it's not been pusblshed yet.I don't know why It has not happened. Anyway welcome and congratulation to be a bloger this month.I already admire your work and enjoy them very much. Goodluck!!
Hi Anita!! First of all congrats for being ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s bloger of this month. Thanks a lot for your recommendation. I have started reading and listening ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½. Bye4now, Naseem
Hi Anita, really nice to read about you again! I didn't know that today is 60 years since Freddy Mercury was born! Good to know... I like Queens' songs, too, and love sing along to their songs while I am listening to them, even if I don't know the words and I am tone-deaf... My favourite one is Bohemian rapsody! Bye bye,
Helo, Anita, this is the first time I write here. Actually, I had never wroten through any web. Recently, I discovered this way to improve my english and I decided to do it saying, that I like very much Queen too. When I was a child, (now I am 28 years old, it was my favourite band. I sang thesongs without knowing what iI was singing. It would sound like this: "I one two breik free...". Obviously, nowadays I still don´t understand every thing. But, ... I do it a little bit better. I would also comment you that when I went to England I used to go to Pubs to speak and meet somebody to improve my language. At the same time,I had a good time as it was a different place to learn, mor informal than a typical classroom. See yoo.
Thanks for all your contributions. This blog has now closed and can no longer accept new comments.
