Our little ZOO
I am writing you a little earlier because I am going to the accounting course.
My family likes animals and the nature. We try to protect it as much as we can. As you know, we live in a house with garden, trees and flowers so I let my children have pets. We have one dog, a bobtail. She is 9 years old.

Our second dog was put to sleep last year because he was very ill and old /16 years/. We felt sorry for him. Then we have one tom-cat, two turtles and some fish in an aquarium in the children’s room. And of course, in our garden there are lots of birds and we can listen to their singing, especially in the morning.

I would like to tell you several stories about animals that have happened this summer. My son brought a little egg home in August and he unloaded it on his desk. Two days later this little egg started to move. We put it into a bottle and next morning a little brown lizard was in the bottle. We have never seen a lizard egg before. We transferred it into a small aquarium where we settled a rock and a case with grass in it. We had a problem. This little lizard did not want to eat at first. We offered it ants, grasshoppers. Nothing happened. Actually, the grasshopper was as big as the lizard. We were anxious and thought that it would be better if we let it go. Then we got an idea and we offered it some ant eggs. Our little lizard started eating. Since then it has had a robust appetite and is very spry. We put the aquarium under the lamp and our new pet can sunbathe on the rock in this way. I named it. Its name is “Picur“, in English it means: Dinky. My son takes care of it. I think it is a fun experience for my son and for me, too.

One day we were trimming the hedge in our garden when I saw a new molehill and a mole in it. My husband caught it and put it into a bucket. It screamed so much that we felt sorry for it and we let this small animal go in this part of the garden where we don’t have grass. It buried itself very quickly.
Another day my son was on his way home when he set his eyes on two kittens in the ditch next to the road. They were abandoned. He did not have the heart to have them destroyed, so he picked them up and brought them both home. We fed them with milk. They were so hungry that they ate and ate and ate... One of them had an injured eye and we named them, One Eye and Two Eye. My son was taking care of the kittens who enjoyed being petted. It was so nice to hear little kittens purr. They were grey and black striped. About a week later our kittens disappeared. We do not know why. We fed them three times a day and played with them and they had a good shelter. Maybe our dog was guilty. She could not make friends with them. We were calling them for two days but they did not come back. We have been very sad. My husband said: “It was their destiny“. Are you a great believer in destiny?
Thanks once again for your comments. See you tomorrow!

You are really a animal lover! your second dog had lived for 16 years. it is amazing! I also like your cute cat! thanks for your interesting stories! keep on doing!
Other languages have their translations for "Dinky." LOL! (laugh out loud) Hmm... So lizards like ant eggs? Is that their version of caviar -- fish eggs? I really do not believe in destiny, but I do believe that God wants what is best for us. To help us he actively guides our lives, but we frequently get in His way as he put our wants before His will. While God only wants best for us, we are free to choose that or not. I hope that makes sense without being too preachy.
Hi Anita, It seems that you have a wonderful family with nice members and cute animals as well as a ideal garden.I guess you have made people jealous ;).Anyways, it's definitely exciting to view your blog and learn about your amazing life (a colourful one).Wish you and your family all the best .
What lovely pets!Anita, you should be a good-natured person having in mind you have such different pets.By the way are you a vegeterian? I'll explain why I ask very that question.I was very confused when my family went to grandparent's house. My mother-in law, as I said yesterday, cooks very well. She had prepared rabbit meat stuffed with rice and mushrooms. It smelled deliciously. But when my 5-year-old son asked what kind of meat it is, I felt uneasy to explain. He has a lot various in size and colors rabbit toys.I suspected that he would become sad if I tell him the truth.I said it was a chicken. Rabbit is too cute animal to slaughter and eat. Now about destiny.I am not great believer in destiny but I keep in mind that sometimes I can not rule my life.My grand-grand mother would say : 'If we knew what will happen today we would not have got up from the bed in the morning'. (Very confused sentence-maybe lots of mistakes?)I hope you understand the meaning. In my opinion superstitious people are anxious an this feeling impedes them to live happily. So my grand-grand mother was a wise woman when was teaching to be more confident and to avoid bad toughts.Bye-bye, Anita.I am looking forward to hearing you soon!
Your story is a good story,it is full of diffrent idea but is not complicated language, easy to understand and fun.
Hi Anita You have a happy family and a beautiful house with garden and animals. My house is small so I cannot take care animals. When I was a child, I love my grandfather so much. He is good natured and hard working. He took care everything in family. I wish I will get married with same man. He had a nice dog. He took care and washed up it. I loved it very much. One day, When I got up in the morning, I didn't see my grandfather anywhere. My mum said that he went to aboard to Australia. It made me sad so much and I cried alots. He didn't say goodbye with me. And then the dog was also ill and died in a few days. I will never see my grandfather beceause he's very old and can't move and identify everyone in family. My mum said that and I feel so sad about it. I pray with the Chris to make him better. I wish I can see him again. Vy
I am surprised to see that it was a lizard coming out from the egg. so interesting! then you even can find ant eggs to feed "Picur"..haha..thanks for your stories.
Someone do believe destiny. But someone just do believe himself, you know! I believe that there exist "GOD",but I still believe that our fate is created by our own hands. You have to work hard, paying the largest efforts. You can't do things flip-flops. You have to keep up your mind and go straight for it. If you had done the all things but still did not reach the top .Then that is your destiny!!!!
Hi Anita. Your picturesque story made me go back to my childhood where ,like you and your family, I was surrounded by nature and pets. It's such a nice experience to be in touch with Nature, we learn so much by observing and experimenting as you did with your lizard. I also had the sad experience of having to put a dog to rest. It was a mongrel that I owned when I was 6 years old . He was my best friend when a was teenager Whenever I had disilussions I would run to him for comfort. Now I live in a flat but I still have my pet and two nice balconies where I keep lots of plants and I also have a budgie. We animal and plant lovers always find ways to be in touch with nature!!!
I have lived in flats all my life, except when we go to a house we have near the beach, about 25 km. from the capital. So, I have no animals and as my parents did not like them, I suppose that is the reason I don't feel comfortable with them, and I do not enjoy the stories about them. I like to hear the birds singing, that is different. Fortunately sometimes we can hear them in the city. About destiny, I believe in God and believe that we are free to make our decisions but there are a lot of misteries that the human being cannot understand.
Amazing pictures of the animals! I loved them ,especialy dog... no eyes ,just ears - I bet he is a good lisener :)Some people think that we built our own destiny ...Maybe we just trying to make it less sharp and hurtful?
Anita I adore your blog..This is the 2nd story I've read from your blog and I like it so much..I love pets alot thou I don't have any because I live in a flat and my parents don't like to raise animals as they will cause mess in our appartment.. About destiny I'm a 100% believer of it,,and I know that god destines to us the best...
Hi, writer! I'm really impressed about your stories. I'm a afraidest of all animals person, sometimes I try to close them as well as I can. Howerver I did not know the reason why I could not make "a good relashionship" with them. Maybe my destiny is not allowed to near all of animals, hihihi... And especially my family has never loved them. When I read your stories, I absolutely felt strange and I hope I shall change my mind about animals. One day I can feed my own pets such as dog or bird. Thank you so much for your amazing stories and pics. That's very nice to hear from your another!
I also love animals. I have an old bitch that i picked up from the street. I can see kindness gratitude in her eyes.
I have rarely met people who love animals that I did not like. They have always been kind.At present I have two dogs are they are such fun to share your life with. At times I think destiny is just life
