MAGICAL | PLAYFUL | VIVID
Fairytale meets humour and heartbreak in this magical concert conducted by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW’s Principal Guest Conductor Jaime MartÃn.
Painting vivid musical pictures of mountains and trolls, death, and dancing, Greig’s Peer Gynt takes inspiration from Norse legend to weave together musical gems in this attractive and fantastical suite, before ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ New Generation Artist Elizaveta Ivanova steps into the spotlight for Nielsen’s playful and provocative Flute Concerto. We then turn to the world of ballet with Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and some of the most sublime melodies ever written. This highly artistic score weaves romance and tragedy, lyrical and elegant dance with veils of magic and sublime beauty with tremendous drama – this is certainly a concert not to be missed.
