World Class

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Class

Ìý

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Class, a pan-ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ initiative, will encourage schools to establish links between classrooms across the globe through its new website bbc.co.uk/worldclass.

Ìý

World Class aims to raise awareness of school twinning amongst children, teachers and parents. It also provides support to schools which wish to get involved in an international partnership.

Ìý

World Class is also running a legacy project to tie in to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Africa Season called 1000 Schools for Africa.

Ìý

Across the season, networks and programmes will encourage audiences to consider twinning their schools with schools in Africa.

Ìý

We will celebrate existing school partnerships and make the numbers up to a thousand and beyond.

Ìý

On-air, the World Class Africa Season will be supported by local radio stations across the country: it will be shared with children on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ 7 Big Toe Radio Show and on CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Xchange, and brought to the wider adult audience in Radio 4's Africa Day.

Ìý

The Africa Service at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World Service will contribute through their interactive programme, Africa Live, and Outlook and Everywoman will bring the 1000 Schools initiative to a global audience.
