Dr John Idris Jones, head of Socio-economic Development at the atomic power station Wylfa, talks about the impact and aftereffects of Chernobyl's meltdown in 1986.
On the 26 April 1986 a huge explosion damaged the Chernobyl nuclear power station in the Soviet Union. A radioactive cloud was blown over North Wales and contaminated some of the land. It led to new concerns about the already controversial industry. Wales had two atomic power stations, Trawsfynydd in Gwynedd and Wylfa on Anglesey. Dr John Idris Jones, head of Socio-economic Development at Wylfa, talks about the impact of the disaster and the aftereffects.
