This week on Classical Live, we will hear music inspired by the Arts including Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending based on poetry by George Meredith, a suite from Rameau's ballet Les Bor茅ades and Korngold's musical take on Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing'. Plus there is a live concert from the 蜜芽传媒 Philharmonic and conductor Jack Sheen encompassing this theme with music by Respighi, Gipps and Rachmaninov.

Elsewhere, there's chamber music from sold out concerts at the Hay Festival, recorded exclusively for 蜜芽传媒 Radio 3 in May this year. Today the Mithras Trio perform a piece composed by one of the most important female composers from France, M茅lanie Bonis.
