Stronger Together
Emergency teams race to a gas explosion at a busy marina; an injured biker is stuck in a remote spot; and teams pull together to rescue a lost father and son.
Documentary series following the dedicated rescue teams based in the stunning but extreme landscape of Eryri, North Wales. In the rare event of a major incident, Eryri’s teams must work hand in hand, sometimes in unpredictable situations. In this episode, a gas explosion at a busy marina in Bangor brings Fire, Ambulance, Police and Coastguard teams racing to the scene. With risk of further explosions, it’ll need all their combined skills to get the situation under control, and the injured skipper to safety. And while major incidents in busy places pose unique challenges, on other occasions teams must pull together to rescue people in remote spots. In southern Eryri, a mountain biker is injured after falling off her bike on a bank holiday day out. She’s unable to walk and it’s 2 kilometres from the nearest road. A large team of Mountain Rescue team volunteers must rally round to stretcher her to safety, including team doctor Hayley.
As the pressure on Eryri’s rescue agencies builds, multiple callouts can stretch its volunteer teams to their limit. When an 83-year-old walker and his son are lost in the dark somewhere on Glyder Fawr, the team needs to find them fast. But with volunteers already tied up on other callouts, long-standing team member Phil must draw on all his knowledge and experience, and pull in help from neighbouring teams and the Coastguard helicopter to rescue them.
