Society rules
Grooming is the main way for currying favour for East Africa's olive baboons and you are never too young to learn a little political know-how. In the rough and tumble of daily life, everyone needs to know who's on their side and who isn't. But baboons aren't the only primates in this forest and the neighbours play by a slightly different set of rules. With his family as back-up, a young chimp dares to take on an adult male baboon. The baboon is much bigger and stronger, but the chimp knows the power of using a rock as a weapon. All primates are complicated creatures - causing trouble one minute, wanting to play the next. They understand each other.
